About Angie Candell
I’m an editorial fine art photographer whose work has been featured in publications including Vogue Italia, Bridal Guide, and internationally recognized editorial platforms, with imagery spanning fashion, lifestyle, portraiture, and storytelling.
Why I Became an Editorial Fine Art Photographer
I’ve had a camera in my hands since childhood – long before photography became my profession, or storytelling became something I explored through books and illustration. I was a shy kid, but having a camera in my hands made me feel popular & accepted- and I was hooked. What started as instinct and curiosity grew into a lifelong love, and eventually into a formal education. I earned my bachelor’s degree in photography, grounding my creative voice in technical mastery, visual storytelling, and fine art composition.
My work blends cinematic atmosphere with fine art sensibility, resulting in imagery that feels immersive, emotional, and enduring rather than trendy or formulaic. I approach each project – whether editorial, portrait, or commissioned – with the intention of creating photographs that feel like still frames from a larger story.
Early in my career, I completed internships in both editorial and fashion, including at Brides magazine and the fashion brand Crazy Hot Clothes, where I developed a strong foundation in visual pacing, brand storytelling, and styling-driven imagery. I later worked as an ecommerce photographer for rue21, refining my ability to translate creative vision into polished, commercially effective imagery at scale.

My Approach to Editorial Fine Art Photography
My style is cinematic and story-driven – shaped by classical painting, editorial photography, and imagery that feels intentional. I’m drawn to natural & Rembrandt-style lighting, dramatic story-lines, and old-world aesthetics.
When I’m not photographing, you’ll usually find me:
- developing personal fine art projects
- writing and illustrating children’s books
- gardening
- spending time with my dog, Oakley
You can explore recent work on my Portfolio page or view editorial features on my As Seen In page.

Whether I’m working in fashion, lifestyle, portraiture, or fine art, I believe imagery should feel create a sense of awe.
If you value story and visual depth, you’ll probably feel right at home here.
✨ I’d love to create something meaningful together.
Who I Work With
I work with:
- Editors and publications seeking cinematic storytelling
- Brands looking for emotionally resonant imagery
- Creative agencies and art directors
- Individuals commissioning personal or heirloom work
Whether the project is editorial, commercial, or personal, my goal is always the same: to create imagery that feels intentional, immersive, and enduring.
